Juan Alvarado Valdivia
Juan Alvarado Valdivia, the proud son of Peruvian parents, was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and raised in Fremont, CA. He is a 2010 graduate of Saint Mary’s MFA in Creative Writing program. In 2011, he was awarded an artist residency fellowship through The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico.
He is working on completing his memoir titled The View From 4C, which chronicles his life with lymphoma at age 30, as well as life in its aftermath. A devout heavy metal enthusiast and urban cyclist (rain or shine), he lives in Oakland, CA.
