Who we Are...
Sunday Stories started about three years ago when a few us who were working on master’s degrees in creative writing at Mills College decided to create a space to write and share our work.
Since then, our group has included members from other programs and backgrounds. When we found out we were selected to participate in LitCrawl 2011, we wanted to come up with a theme that embodies who we are as writers. We chose Brown People Don’t Read? because if you take a good look at the literary world, it’s mostly populated by people who are not Brown, and mostly caters to people who are not Brown, so we as writers want to prove that we Brown people do indeed read (and write literature).
We are (from l to r): Mario Uriarte, Blanca Torres, Lisa D. Gray, Scott Duncan, and Juan Alvarado Valdivia
